Daddy's favorite photo of...well...Week# 12?!

Yup. Daddy's been a slacker. A big one. He even got a big camera that he's all excited about. Needless to say, he's been too busy "playing" with me and has not spent nearly enough time posting photos. My Mom and Mimi have been urging him to get back "on the ball", whatever that means. So, here's Daddy's favorite photo of whatever week we're on now:

Tummy Time!

My Mom and Dad are always making me play on my tummy. I didn't like it at first...but lately, I've started to enjoy it. Tonight, they let me play in just my diaper and I had so much fun. Daddy used his brand new camera and took WAY too many photos. All I see now are little glowing dots everywhere. Here are some of the highlights:

Christmas time with my Papa and Mimi Souers

I had a wonderful first Christmas with my Papa and Mimi Souers. We stayed at their house for most of Christmas and they took me on lots and lots of walks. I also watched my parents play a game called Nerts? I think my daddy and Mimi won! Here's just one of many photos of how happy I was:

My mommie and me

Here I am with my mommie. I love her so much, she makes me smile all the time. I am even starting to laugh out loud when I am with her. She says that she didn't know how much she could love a little baby. I am so glad that God decided to give me to my mommie and daddy! They make me so happy.

Me and the Girls

Here I am with my mommie, MiMi and soon to be Aunt Banana. Her real name is Vanna but for some reason we all call her Banana. I really like it - maybe because everyone keeps telling me I will like bananas as soon as I am old enough to eat.

Jesus's birthday party was fun!

Wow,

What a party! Does everyone get a birthday party like Jesus? We started partying the day before His birthday with all my mommie's side of the family. We took lots of pictures. Daddy got a new camera and he was "burning it up"! I got to see my cousins again and took lots of pictures with them. I loved every minute of the party.

Me and My Cousins

Here I am with my cousins from Bakersfield. They are so much fun, I can't wait 'til I grow up and I can run and play with them. The more cousins, the better. Life is good!

Who are the ewoks?

My MiMi and Papa came over to babysit me and they brought me some new clothes since they say I am getting sooooooo big! They put a new outfit on me and just HAD to take some more pictures. My eyes are getting used to really bright lights! Anyway, they thought I looked just like an ewok in this picture. I didn't know who they were talking about - I guess they were before my time.

Christmas is almost here

I heard that there is a holiday coming up where we all get together and celebrate the birth of a baby. A boy baby too, just like me. But I am told He was really God too. I can't wait to sing Happy Birthday to Him! I have my party hat on and am ready to go!

Mr. Smiley Face

I love to smile. I have been learning how to do it by watching my mommie and daddy smile at me. The more they smile, the more I do. I guess you could say "We are just one big happy family!"

Bad hair day?

My daddy likes to make my hair stand straight up. He rubs my head with his beard and somehow makes my hair go up. He laughs and laughs when he sees my hair like that. I kind of like it!

I love to sleep

My Mimi and Papa Kenny came to stay the weekend with me. They are always taking pictures of me. They think everything I do is the "cutest". Even when I go to sleep after a big meal. They say they love me more than anything.

Daddy Favorite Photo of Week# 5

I know...I know...Daddy's been slacking off lately.  He's spent too much time holding me and not enough time uploading photos to the web.  He apologies for being late on this one.  It's actually a little older, but it's one of his favorites...probably because we're trying to make the same face!

Daddy Favorite Photo of Week# 5:

Papa Kenny and me

Here is a picture of my Papa Kenny and me. My mommie had just fed me and she gave me to Papa 'cuz he wanted to burp me. I guess I overate a little bit since I kinda "burped" up some of my dinner on Papa's shirt. He said he didn't care at all! I guess he really loves me alot.

Uncle Awesome

Today I met my Uncle Blake. He wants me to call him "Uncle Awesome". I think he was just kidding when he said that, but I think it makes great sense. He lives in Rhode Island and flew here to see me. Isn't that just awesome?! When he told me he has to fly back next week, we both started to cry. I will miss my Uncle Awesome.

Today I went to the Bakersfield Pumpkin Patch with my mommie and Mimi. It is in a little place called "Pumpkin Center"! Isn't that a funny name. I had so much fun, this time I was awake and got to see all the pumpkins.

Bath time!

So Mommy keeps on giving me baths. Every day! She says I smell like a boy?! Aren't I supposed to smell like a boy? Anyway, I stopped crying since I figured it's not gonna change her mind. Daddy snapped a picture as I looked up at my beautiful Mommy:

My first pumpkin patch trip...

So Mom and Dad decided to take me to my first pumpkin patch today to celebrate me being one-month old. They took lots of photos. I had a good time despite the 90+ degree temperatures. Here are just a few of the best photos:

Daddy's Favorite Photo for Week# 4

I know it's a bit fuzzy, but daddy took this from his iphone while rocking me to sleep a few days ago and it's his all-time favorite.  He says that it "captures" how absolutely adorable I am.

Daddy's Favorite Photo for Week# 4:

A new aunt in the family

Today my Uncle Coleman came over with his girlfriend Vanna. He was telling me all about how he just asked her to marry him and she said yes. He gave her an engagement ring and he said it made her cry. I wonder if she was hungry, because that is when I cry. I am happy for him because he is so happy but I really don't understand all this "love" stuff yet.

Daddy's favorite photo for Week# 3

I know it's a bit early for Dad to be deciding on his favorite photo of the week. But after I fell asleep in his arms, he couldn't help but grab a quick snapshot. Come on! How cute am I!!

Daddy's favorite photo for Week#3:

Friends for life!

Here I am with my new friend Noah. We are only a couple months apart in age but he really has one up on me. I am wondering if he is all muscle! I hope to be like him when I get bigger. I really like him alot. It's fun having friends!

Daddy's favorite photo from Week #2

Daddy's decided to create a "best-of" posting every week in regards to his favorite photo of me. Since there were too many to pick from on Week# 1, we'll call it a tie amongst all the photos below. Starting with this week, daddy had a lot of choices. However, seeing me wrapped up in a Raiders receiving blanket was just too much to turn down.
So, without further ado...Daddy's Favorite Photo for Week# 2:

MiMi and Me

My Mimi loves me so much. She was so sad to leave but my mommie and daddy are doing so good, that she decided she better go home to my Papa Kenny. Before she left, she had my papa Kenny take a whole bunch of pictures of me and her so she won't forget what I look like. Although I get to see her alot, she says she misses me even after one minute. I got to take my first out of town trip to her house when I was 11 days old. I was such a good boy, I like to ride in the car.

Me and Grandpa

This is a picture of me and my Grandpa Tom. His name used to be Toru, just like my name. My daddy told me I was named after him. My middle name, Grant, was my other Grandpa's mom's maiden name. My mommy and daddy love their families so much they wanted to name me after them. I can't wait to get a little bigger so I can play with my Grandpa Tom.

Uncle Coleman's jealous...

Uncle Coleman was a bit jealous that he hadn't been featured in my blog...so here's his first posting. I'm glad I was able to stall long enough for him to be there when I was born...had I been born on time, he would have been working at his big-boy firefighter job. Maybe I'll be a firefighter one day?! Either that or a Raiders free-safety. I can't wait for my first ride-along in Uncle Coleman's fire engine!

Mommy Kobayashi’s thoughts every moment of every day...

Perhaps I had a wicked childhood
Perhaps I had a miserable youth
But somewhere in my wicked, miserable past
There must have been a moment of truth

For here you are, standing there, loving me
Whether or not you should
So somewhere in my youth or childhood
I must have done something good

Nothing comes from nothing
Nothing ever could
So somewhere in my youth or childhood
I must have done something good

For here you are, standing there, loving me
Whether or not you should

So somewhere in my youth or childhood
I must have done something good

Nothing comes from nothing
Nothing ever could

So somewhere in my youth
Or childhood
I must have done something . . .
Something good”

I have my Mimi wrapped around my finger!

Mimi told me last night that she didn't want to go home. Altho she really misses my Papa Kenny, she said she loves me so much there is some close competition going on. Wonder how Papa Kenny likes sleeping alone? I am having so much fun with my mommie, daddy and Mimi. Life is good on the outside!

I'm home and happy...

After a busy 32 hours, I finally went home with my momma and daddy to our humble apartment in Valencia, CA. It's so nice to be home and out of the hustle and bustle of the hospital. Not long after I got home, I took a nap on my pappa Kenny's chest and Mimi (grandma) took a quick snapshot. I'm bettin' this one ends up on his desk at work! As you'll soon see, I like sleeping on one arm, just like my daddy.

First Set of Photos...

I have arrived...

Finally and just a few days late! 3:39AM to be exact. It was kinda scary after I was born. The doctor whisked me away to some other doctors who had to help me "transition" to outside my momma's tummy. I spent a few hours in the special care unit. Daddy spent the entire time watching me as the doctor's monitored my oxygen levels. By 7:00AM, I was moved to the nursery for a quick bath and was then reunited with my Mom. We had some much needed skin-to-skin time. I couldn't be happier!
